
'GLOSSARY OF TRAPEZE TERMS' in Flying Trapeze Log book.

| HEP | Audible queue to depart for your trick. |
| LISTO | Means ready in Spanish. |
| BREAK | Term used for when a flyer needs to move legs backwards while perfoming a trick. |
| TRICK | A manoeuvre on the trapeze to the catcher. |
| SWEEP | The motion used during the swing with the lower body to maintain height and power. |
| SET | Final position like sitting in a chair for a breaking trick. |
| DRIVE | The final point after the break in which you need to elevate your body into the air to complete your trick. |
| 'NO LINES" | To fly on the trapeze without safety lines and safety belt. |
| DIGGER | A fall on the trapeze that is memorable and hurts the pride. |
| FLY BAR | This is what is used to fly on the trapeze and weight 6-8lbs usually a stainless steel bar. |
| CATCH TRAP | The apparatus or trapeze used to catch the flyers. |
| TRAPEZE | Any bar fixed with two cables can be static or motion. |
| THE 'SHOW' | Means the flying trapeze show that is performed once a week with the GM's and G.O's flyers. |
| CATCH | Is when a person performs a trick and is cautht by wrists by the catcher. |
| NET RASH | OUCH!!! This is when your body slides across the net and get cuts and abrasions.(Knee and Toes are big victims). |
| PBD | This stands for Premature Bar Departure during a release trick and is not thought of very highly by your peers and fellow flyers. |
| RETURN | Is when you perform a trick to the wrist of a catcher and return back to the fly bar via a half turn manoeuvre. |

A fictional character made up by circus G.O's and it is for GM's who take off the pedestal and do not hold onto the fly bar and sail across the trapeze rigging. |
| CERTIFICATE | A paper awarded to out GM's who performed a trick on the trapeze. A great honour in which the entire circus team signs and hands the GM's the 'Flying License'. |
